We then moved to a comfortable van to tour and experience a tasting at one winery, followed by lunch at a local restaurant (very much a local experience, though we felt welcome and well cared for as tourists). Then onto another winery focused on port wines. In all cases, the scenery was amazing, the wines unique and very tasty, and the staff knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful.
